Ex Dividend

Ex Dividend

Submitted by • September 25, 2012

Ex dividend is the trading of shares when a declared dividend belongs to the seller rather than buyer. A stock trades ex dividend on or after the ex dividend date. In order for investors to receive the upcoming dividend they must already own or must have purchased the stock prior to the ex dividend date.
